Other things just eating up my time… But anywhos, I had my brother who is now staying with me mowing on the Cub 2155 and I seen him heading around the house from the back yard. He said “ I heard a loud pop and the blades quit spinning “. PTO belt had called it quits. Started to run up to Agri Supply because they have a big selection of v belts and that is where I got the last PTO belt for this machine. Bought it on 6-8-24, 787.1 hrs, K Force brand name, A-754-3055. It only lasted 1year and 4 months. Well Tractor Supply is closer and I didn’t like that it only lasted a short while. Walked in TS to the belt aisle, looked up, and there was the one I needed. A Cub Cadet OEM 754-3055A. A sign from the lawn and garden tractor gods… back to mowing in less than 45 minutes. The tractor now has 825.6 hours, so the Agri Supply K Force belt lasted 38.5 hours. JoeM 8,931 #2 Posted October 12 Belt failure analysis can be tricky. Just looking the rest, it looks pretty good. Almost like something was stuck in that section or it slipped in that section, but you never know. I like OE belts, especially Toro, but some have priced theirs out. And now pretty much all being made off shore. I have not really had any issues with off brand belts. I like TSC and bought a few Johnson belts at RK. Horse Newbie 7,398 #3 Posted October 12 Actually I noticed about a month ago that the belt was almost completely separated all the way through where it was joined together. Was installing new blades at the time. Should have/ could have replaced it then, so that means it seemingly had an even shorter real use life. I have had belts last years that were cracked along the entire length in various places. This one just failed at the joint quickly. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

peter lena 9,471 #5 Posted October 12 @horsenewbee sure points to RELATED ROTATIONAL DRAG , often refer to my pto drive belt , moving the entire spindle assembly , easily BY HAND , don,t have any related belt issues , USE T/S ARIMID BELTS , no cracking or fraying , looks like mechanical failure to me . like related bearings , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
