Krice58 110 #1 Posted October 1 Got an M12 and k301 off of some beat up 312-8s. Looking at a C100 8 speed, it’s my understanding that at least the K301 should both right up with no modifications. Is this the case? What about the M12? Thanks!

ri702bill 10,245 #3 Posted October 1 And a different ignition switch too. You would be going from battery ignition to magneto ignition... 1
Lee1977 7,418 #4 Posted October 1 (edited) The K 301s on 312's may have a different charging system. I know my 1985 312-8 has a 3 amp. charging system with AC lights. What I see in 1986 electric wiring diagrams the 1986 is the same. Edited October 3 by Lee1977 1

Adding a kill relay is all that would be needed for the Magnum swap, everything else would remain the same. 14 minutes ago, Lee1977 said: The K 301s on 312's may have a different charging system. Good point, the engine Spec Number would be the best way to find out.
