Davidh17 0 #1 Posted October 1 Can someone please confirm that item number 310-21015 on DB Electrical (it is a starter for an 8hp kohler engine) is a suitable replacement for the original American Bosch p/n 0599629M030SM starter on a 1977 wheelhorse B-80? Thanks in advanced.
ri702bill 10,027 #2 Posted October 1 No, but from what I've seen, be sure the tooth count is the same as yours first, There may be a plastic cap on the end of the Bendix - it is removable. Biggest gripe with non OE (read that as offshore knockoffs) is the physical mounting to get a proper tooth engagement to the flywheel. Once you file or slot the mounting holes, you own it - non returnable..
