cheesegrader 434 #27 Posted October 20 +1 with Peter to vent the belt guard. I am absolutely convinced this is the cause of the heat issues in the rear cylinder on 520's. I've done this on all four of mine. I'm also a big fan of the foot pedal conversion, my favorite mod. Keeps my right hand on the wheel while my left is on the hydro control. It is easy to install, and you will be there anyway. I know that the rubber on the footrest is a minor deal, and always gets left until after straightening, cleaning, and painting, but... My muddy boot slipped on bare footrests several times, until I finally fell and sliced my forehead.
