Hello. I need to replace the petcock for my SK-486, the 8 speed with the Kohler 16hp. Any suggestions on where I could pick up a replacement? Thank you.

@Nutiket PM @76c12091520h

He and his dad deal in NOS parts and other assorted peripherals, and he is just on the north side of Sunbury out past the old hospital. He might have something in stock for you, and being that close you should be able to get it same day. Plus I have just found him to be a great source for parts in general.

Your choice on screen or no screen, but I prefer no screen.   I like the filter in the line where I can see it.   I find many of the in tank screens clogged.

@ NUTKET  found using  , dielectric  grease  on every  rubber to metal  connection  , made for much easier  hook ups  also like a filter  close to tank and  just before carb , BTW  since  going over  to  fuel STA BIL , ounce or two  , to every tank top off , change out of  original hose ,  have zero  fuel hose debris , in any filter  , fuel bowl on carb always , clean / clear , just another experiment  on a REPEDITIVE PROBLEM .  been years now . no fuel hose break down , pete

I've had several cheap valves go bad so I've switched to these:

Fuel Flow Valve | Aircraft Spruce ® https://share.google/irsCRAuHCVrHUw2w9

With this grommet:

Fuel Tank Rubber Bushing | Aircraft Spruce ® https://share.google/9EwLfvfR5cd4aSCOF

Thank you for that link, Eric. I HATE that tiny knob on the shut off! I ordered a few to replace the ones on the tractors and my genny.

90⁰ lever. The only way to fly.
