adsm08 3,443 #2 Posted September 6 Great tractor. I have two, my 855, and an actual Commando 8, but they are essentially the same unit. If it were me I'd get it fixed up and running, but if you decide to part it I might be interested in some parts.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,460 #3 Posted September 7 Nice! Sleeve hitch and original seat, looks like a complete and unmolested rig. Why’s the rear wheel off?
terc 18 #4 Posted September 7 Sparky I believe that those tires were calcium filled. I have not checked the other tire as of yet for fluids. The original owners nephew showed me the original wheel and tire which were completely rusted away, and the rust continued into the axle hub. I'm still weighing options as to what to do with this. 1
Retired Wrencher 5,944 #5 Posted Sunday at 10:40 AM (edited) @terc I have had a few of these nice tractors to have in tight spaces because of the 22” on the back a saw tooth on the front. Enjoy when done. Just take your time. What I do with tractors like this after clean up. I use Marvel mystery oil. Just rub it in let it sit for a day or less and wipe off access and bring out the patina that you have and protect the metal rusting more. I know others doing a different way and that’s fine. I just find it easier doing it this way. Edited Sunday at 10:46 AM by Retired Wrencher
parsonsponyz 238 #6 Posted Sunday at 10:50 AM Nice save. Looks like a good rescue. I saw that and decided to pass since there's enough projects on the schedule.
