WH1618speed 542 #1 Posted August 30 Hey all. I recently acquired a 1957 RJ-35 with a Briggs Model 8 engine. I am trying to decipher if it is correct or not. I know the 57s came with Clintons and Kohlers, but I thought only the RJ 25 had the Briggs Model 8. The engine has a 5/8" output shaft and has the correct pulley with the reverse disc. Just confused as to why it has a Briggs. Thanks.
wallfish 18,625 #2 Posted August 31 An RJ-25 would be a bonafide hen's tooth. Never saw one and don't know anyone that has one. That's an incredible find if it is from one!
Eriks Red horse herd 122 #3 Posted August 31 Are you sure you have a 57? The Rj 25 was still being made in 56. Do you have a pick of your tractor.

Here are some pics of the tractor. It has a 57 hood and steering wheel. The belt guard is clearly homemade.
