I decided to play with my '61 551 one day I drove it up the driveway and on the way down I shifted it into 3rd for some reason I steped on the Clutch / Break pedal and the whole tractor stood on end luckly the slot hitch stoped me from falling backwards . Ben

Good thing for that slot hitch and that you didn't get hurt. That'll get the blood rushing huh?

Yeah, those "roasters" will do that pretty easily. I learned that on the 550 as a kid! I call it "rearing up"!

It is times like these you are very happy for the pan seat so you can slip right off!

I am working on modifying a trip scoop from a CC (sort of a mini Johnny Bucket) to work on my horses. ON several early test runs the scoop pushed under the 854 and voila - had to shut off the engine REAL quick. Not 100% sure how I'll solve it, but at least part of the solution is to change the stops on the bucket so it digs in less!

You know.....

That could be a good activity for the next WHCC show -- a wheelie riding contest for the mid-engine tractor operators.

Ha... you'll have folks running thin, lightweight front tires filled with helium, maybe an extra helium balloon under the hood like a gas tank, and wheelie bars... Maybe even tying big bunches of helium balloons to the front of the tractors.... Hrmmm.... sounds like a fun challenge to me!

You could have "stock" and "altered" classes!

I think I'll just bolt a couple shopping cart wheels to the ends of the rear fenders on the 400. (sticking straight back) I've had it on the back edge of the seat and the fender tips a few times, so that should be the correct location for them-- but I should probably find a backrest for the seat too -- or maybe just strap a skateboard on my back.
