Does anyone know if it is possible to change rotation direction in a Delco/Remy starter generator used on the K series? :scratchead:

It is possible, but only if the fields are changed. (so sayeth the guy where I get my parts & rebuilds)

The Cub Cadet starter generator spins opposite. They are very abundant.

It all depends on how much it costs you for the fields and to have them installed. It's also a good time to have the commutator turned/polished and the bearings and brushes replaced, so you might get in to a few dollars - but it's usually worth it.

I know new "aftermarket" units are available, but I prefer to have them rebuilt so I know exactly what I have.
