acedog 1 #1 Posted September 21, 2009 I recently had a post about something to carry small tools on my WH without hooking up the trailer. There were some interesting replys, some still on the drawing board ( can't wait to see them ). But for now I'll be using this. It's a craftsman tool bag with a shoulder strap that I hang over the back of the seat.

acedog 1 #3 Posted September 21, 2009 Yea, I like that wish I had a flat fender like that. I was going to remove my bottle holder and replace it with something like that but I changed my mind.
Rollerman 290 #4 Posted September 22, 2009 Again acedog thats a sweet looking 315! That tool bag should work slick....just watch it on the tire chains. Tools & a refreshment....win, win!
kpinnc 14,606 #5 Posted September 22, 2009 If you want something that'll handle more weight and is a "bolt-on" setup, see if you can locate a bagger mounting bracket. It bolts to the gas tank supports and replaces the spacers on the hitch pin. You'll be able to keep the functionality of the rear hitch, but it will give you a very sturdy platform to mount a tool box. It would also mount high enough that the box would be right behind the seat. Heck, I may go make one... Kevin
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,527 #6 Posted September 22, 2009 Somthing not right about craftsman and wheelhorse in the same sentance.... I guess if it works then go with it...
bitten 134 #7 Posted September 22, 2009 I like that idea. I would take it off when not useing it so the seat doesnt get bent out of shape.
acedog 1 #8 Posted September 22, 2009 I did check out the posibility of the bag catching on the chains but if you see it from the rear it seems ok. As far as the craftsman product on a WH, I did think about that so I turned the bag around so the craftsman logo is hidden. One thing at least the colors match. Another good thing about the bag is that you can remove it when you get to your work site in case you can't drive right to it.
kpinnc 14,606 #9 Posted September 23, 2009 I'm sure Stevebo didn't mean his remark to be negative, but it does remind me of worse things that have been said here- and just so acedog knows: I've done much worse (and plan to continue) than use a Craftsman bag on a Wheel Horse. You do what works for you and never mind such comments. Last year a new member asked about using a JD front axle on a Wheel Horse until he could find a replacement, and you would have thought he had slapped a few members based on their responses to the question. If I need to check the WH police before adding anything to my tractor, they had better put some of their money towards the price of the machine in question. Otherwise, as far as I can tell, it belongs to ME. <_< Keep using that machine how you want to- the bag looks great from my house! Kevin
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,527 #10 Posted September 23, 2009 Easy Kevin I was just kidding. I too think the set up work and looks good. I have to confess, I used a craftsman tool bag to cover my plate weights that I stacked up on a threaded rod on the rear hitch for added weight when plowing so I guess you can call me a hipocrit (spelling?) It is all good... :scratchead:
kpinnc 14,606 #11 Posted September 23, 2009 Sorry Stevebo. Already edited my post. It seemed to point the finger at you more than I intended. Sorry- you read it before I fixed it! 5 whole minutes! :scratchead:

Gerry w 2 #14 Posted September 23, 2009 Yea, I like that wish I had a flat fender like that. I was going to remove my bottle holder and replace it with something like that but I changed my mind. Yours is a sweet looking tractor! Rollerman's right, tools and a cold drink! Way to go, now I need to add a drink holder to mine! That bag looks good! acedog 1 #15 Posted September 23, 2009 Relax guys, absolutely no offense taken. Like stevebo said " It's all good ". Thanks for the WH complements, this is my third garden tractor I had two cub cadets before this one. This is by far the best garden tractor I ever had. I'am 57 years old and I don't think I'll ever need to purchase another garden tractor.
bustedglass 1 #16 Posted September 23, 2009 It's red and black, and it does the job intended. Nothing else needs to be said . Great looking tractor, ingenius idea to solve your tool problem .
Duvall 0 #17 Posted September 23, 2009 It's red and black, and it does the job intended. Nothing else needs to be said . That and Wheel Horse does not make tools and tool bags. Who has not used Craftsman tools? I am going to try and fab up something like Kevin mentioned with the rear vac attachment.
