Recommended Posts

Anyone able to tell me the length of the belt going from the engine pully to the deck pulley on a B-80 model? And possibly where to buy a good one?

Thanks

:text-welcomeconfetti:to the :rs:   We will need more info to find the correct manual for your B-80.     Can you post the numbers on the ID tag. It should be located on the rear of the steering tower under the dash plate.

36 inch RD deck

37 inch SD deck

42 inch RD deck

42 inch SD deck

48 inch SD deck (doubt you are running a 48 incher with only 8 hp)

tractor supply has a good selection of those blue belts.  or any good auto parts store should be able to supply a v-belt

RD deck = rear discharge deck.

SD deck = side discharge deck.

Thanks for the quick responses.

I have a 36" rear discharge deck on it.

The Horse is at my place in VT. It'll be a week or so before I can get the ID tag Pic.

just helped my buddy with this very same deck and belt.  1/2x 97 inch is the belt that goes form the pto out to the mule drive and back to the center pulley on your 36 RD deck.

@daleg8700@gmail.com probably  glairing  ,rotational , movement areas ,  like pulleys  , that  bind or are in the rough  , noisy state of  use , that eat belts alive . very often see the mindset  of  one and done . every  related  movement  spot  , can and should be  free / smooth / easy  , mule drives alone are  known for  binding bearings . also idler pulleys  with tiny bearings , are  known  problems . hint , the deck idler  belt spring tension  spot  , will show , rubber dust  , and elongated  slide arm , wear . also  check out the pto lever set up , for  wear / engagement . its not one area  / its every related area . pete
