ML3 1,684 #1 Posted Sunday at 11:22 PM (edited) Found a 1057 local right in town for sale. Was asking $400, now its down to $350. Got me thinking........ Price seems reasonable?? Definitely notice belt guard missing. Also saw what looks like mounting bracket for possible center grader blade?? Don't really have anymore room for another tractor & don't really need a "working" tractor. More to just satisfy my hoarding needs! 🤣🤣 Question is to buy or not......🤔 Edited Sunday at 11:35 PM by ML3 4
ebinmaine 72,637 #3 Posted Sunday at 11:38 PM The belt guard may be reproduced from another model. The piece underneath is likely for a 60s mower deck. The paint looks excellent. I'd absolutely buy it for no particular reason.

Retired Wrencher 5,781 #8 Posted yesterday at 10:29 AM ML3 my biggest concern is how that transmission is if he was trying to drive it without a beltgard.I would think there’s some questions that have to be answered on this.

I agree bout the potential transmission issues due to missing belt guard. Haven't heard back yet from seller.
Handy Don 14,061 #10 Posted yesterday at 03:16 PM There was definitely something underneath, but what? It kinda looks like part of the frame for a geared mower deck.
ML3 1,684 #11 Posted 21 hours ago Looked at 1057 tonight. No belt guard been on for a while so it grinds into gear - water in trans gear lube - needs throttle/governor adjustment?? - brake band seal leaking so brake lining is saturated w/fluid - painted with roller - right axle appears a bit loose - rear tires pretty much shot I know its only $350 but seems like a lot is needed. He said he'd take $325. Im thinking $200 at the absolute most.
Retired Wrencher 5,781 #12 Posted 10 hours ago (edited) #1 does not sound very good. But you can always pick up another transmission once you find a belt guard if the PO does not have it good luck and I hope it turns out well for you. Oh, by the way, the belt guard number is #6509 that’s in the original parts manual for that model. I will look on eBay and see if there’s a use one.
