Jimmy Hoops 2 #1 Posted July 19 I have a spring that is on top of blade deck that broke. I believe this is a tension spring that keeps the belt tight on the pullys. The spring runs along the back side of the deck almost the full width. It's 15.5" (end to end) & 13.25" (spring length). I can't find a deck schismatic that will give me a part number and all my searches find springs that are to short. Any help would be appreciated.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,482 #2 Posted July 19 42" side discharge? https://www.partstree.com/models/05-42sy01-toro-42-side-discharge-mower-deck-1990/side-discharge-mower-42-in-107-cm-vehicle-identification-number-05-42sy01-7/
Jimmy Hoops 2 #3 Posted July 20 Sorry geest_ca I should have added that in my previous post. Mine is a 48", 3-blade side discharge mower.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,482 #4 Posted July 20 Don't see where they ever used a 48" deck. Decks are sized by their width of cut - not the width of the deck. Sure it is not a 42" deck?
Jimmy Hoops 2 #5 Posted July 21 Ok, of that's the case then it's a 42" deck. When I research it I read it was the complete deck. I'll put that in my notes. It looks like the link you sent has the correct spring on it.
