pylp 6 #1 Posted July 3 (edited) Hello I have a c160 Kohler k341s engine it will only start with a tiny bit of starting fluid then fires right up runs fine. But when I get on to mow riding and cutting it dies out about after a minute or two if it just sits running with the blades on it run till I shut it off I put a brand new carb on and all new fuel lines I'm stumped I checked the manual to check the carb screws there set to OEM from manual and I have tried turning the idle screw up two turns while it raises the rpms high but still dies when driving and mowing thanks Edited July 3 by pylp
1968Commando 163 #2 Posted July 3 (edited) Take the gas cap off and see if it still dies Edited July 3 by 1968Commando

Now you need to fine tune each screw for optimum performance at idle and at high speed. Try 1/8 turn each way from the initial setting to see where the highest rpm is achieved. Turning screws in leans the fuel mixture and turning out richens the mixture. You may find having them set on the rich side of best rpm provides the best performance. 953 nut 59,754 #7 Posted July 3 Gasoline engine do require fuel but they also require spark at the correct time to run under a load. Section 8 of this service manual will guide you through the static timing process. The ignition points gap also sets engine timing.
