BPEisenhower 553 #1 Posted June 26 So, I found out the hard way what going cheap does. Amazon fuel pump filled block with gas and back to tear down. Is there a suitable low pressure electric replacement? I've been told Facet is excellent but never ran one. Would I wire into key switch for power or hour meter? Don't want to use a toggle switch but would like an indicator light to show power to pump. How about a manual oil pressure gauge? Anyone run one?
pfrederi 18,669 #2 Posted June 26 I have used Facet Posi flow pumps for several years. made in USA. I use 4psi versions. I see no need for a light..you can here the pump clicking. Turn ignition switch to run When the sound changes the carb is full and you are ready to start. I use the I terminal on my K series that you do not have. You could use the Acc terminal. Would not pump while cranking but since the carb is full it will start ok. 1
ebinmaine 72,669 #3 Posted June 26 These are the numbers that have been mentioned on this site. I keep them on a list. I personally use a Facet and recommend it. Facet 60245 or 60304. Mr. Gasket 42s. Carter P4070.
Achto 29,402 #4 Posted June 26 Facet are good pumps, just wire it to the key switch. Easy enough to add a light if you wish but like stated above, you will hear it running when you turn the key on. 6 hours ago, BPEisenhower said: So, I found out the hard way what going cheap does. BPEisenhower 553 #5 Posted June 26 I shut it down immediately when I saw the first puffs of white smoke. There was about a half gallon of gas mixed with oil. Hopefully, the rubber lines for remote oil filter aren't internally ruined. Expensive oil change considering I use Joe Gibbs racing oil 😤. Probably would have noticed sooner with oil pressure gauge
sjoemie himself 3,099 #6 Posted June 29 As said by the previous posters.. Facet pumps are good. We use them in tractors and heavy equipment all the time at the place where I work. Easy install and pretty robust. On a sidenote.. we use them in diesel equipment so that might be another type/number pump than the gas equivalent.
