Racinbob 11,938 #1 Posted June 23 I can't believe it's been 20 years since I restored a commando 800 for our grandson but here it is in 2005 freshly finished. This morning I received these via text from our daughter. She said she thought I'd like to see them. Our granddaughter on the Commando. The ham on the Commando. And our daughters friends son on his first Wheel Horse voyage. I'd say the smaller Commando is sized perfectly for them. 2

I bought that 72 Commando in the late 70's and it was one owner and completely original. The seat was originally mounted directly to the fender pan so you sat lower yet. I put the flip setup under the seat. Note the 6" front rims. The rears were originally 10". I put the 22-7.50 rears on it that came off my 76 B-80. The grandson that I originally restored it for is now in his 20's, a truck driver and 6'4". Even with the mods I did his knees pretty much become ear muffs when he sits on it. My very small Mom was why I bought it. She had trouble reaching the pedals on my Dads machines so it really fit her well. She mowed with it for years but her health started declining so she stopped. That's when I hauled it to Florida and did the resto. Then I hauled it back up here for the grandson. The first picture was on the lake we lived on down there. The others are in our daughters backyard.

We just took our granddaughter out for supper. She had a chicken strip left over, You think she'd send it home with grandpa--think again. Fun times and memories--and tractor looks mighty fine as well
