Home safe and sound!

Decided to make a thread for getting home safely.  We are only a few hours away, but we're very fortunate to have a very boring ride home.  Trailer is unhooked. But still need to unload.  It was such a great year getting to see so many familiar faces and meeting new friends!

Hot, sore, sweaty and tired.  Mostly unpacked. Took a quick 15 before unloading the trailer and washing the truck (my next task). Safe travels all!

Made it home without an issue. Already unloaded. Another great time. Got truck washed & tomorrow I'll finish cleaning it in the comfort of the air conditioned garage. Supposed to start getting severe heat tomorrow.  Got grass cut & all yardwork done too

I like it hot, but it's already getting nasty here.

 

I'm at training the next two days, and we are running a modified shop schedule this week. Come in an hour early, leave an hour early.

I’m 31 miles from home and stopping to top off the petrol tanks.  I even stopped in Sandusky, Ohio and picked up a pretty cool walk behind Jacobson sickle mower to deliver to Portage next month!

Made it home about 8:30 last night. Traffic was light the entire way except a little bit coming into Hartford

Made it home in time for my wife's birthday party.    Our son and daughter-in-law prepared a great meal and had a few friends and family join us.

Home about 11 pm Saturday night!

 

Rodney Burger, Vernon Perry and Lane Ralph took about ten hours! 

 

We’ll our trailer was almost empty for tractor , attachments and parts sold on the way home.
 

Emptying truck now!  
 

But I am putting on my own show in the front yard as today is the last day of the Putnam County Antique Machinery Association show!  
 

I think Friday was the best overall day at the show weather wise, activity and visits with friends I every experienced at the show!

 

i personally thanked Daryl Horning, President of the Wheel Horse Collector’s Club for the great job on this years show and the future efforts he is developing!

@WHX?? and I had an uneventful drive home. We did pass @ML3 on the road along the way and gave him a beep & a wave. Rolled into Jim's yard about 11:15pm. Unloaded most of his stuff, transferred my stuff to my truck & trailer and headed out. Pulled into my yard at 12:45 and hit the hay. Rolled out of bed around 5:30am so I could get unloaded before the heat hit hard.

An excellent show, and I agree with Lane that the energy on Friday was amazing.

I do admire you long-haulers with lots of tractors--I’m practically next door at only 250 miles and my lone 854! I do get to cross three major East Coast rivers, though--Susquehanna, Delaware, and Hudson. Made it home for a late dinner but traffic added about 45 minutes of delays.

After dinner I got the trailer unloaded and stored, and the car emptied and then hit the sack.

Passed someone in a little white pickup in Western PA on 76 with a open trailer full of nice shiny ones. Was wondering who that might have been?

I left the Quality Inn in Chambersburg at about 8:15 Sunday morning.

Had a mostly uneventful trip except for a traffic jam because of a wreck on I-77 south just south of Whyteville Va.

Oh and then there was the blown trailer tire about 25 miles from home. Got home around 5:15 pm.

Total miles driven for the whole trip-1146.

Tractors and truck unloaded.

Saturday afternoon they had all lanes in both directions on I-77 closed due to a tanker roll over with a chemical spill. I went on to I-26 which added some time to my trip but not too bad.
