Toro/Wheelhorse 260 series Hood

I purchased new in the 1990’s a Toro/Wheelhorse model 267H with a 38” recycler deck.  I increased my lawn size so I picked up a used 51”, (the largest deck to fit the 260 series tractors).

I'm looking at purchasing another used 268H to mate with the larger deck, and also keeping the 267H as is, as I have the bagging setup for it.

I’ve found the 268 to purchase but the hood was broken so he discarded it.

The 260 series hoods were all plastic and basically junk. I have repaired my 267 hood 2-3 times, and it’s functional, but I’m having great difficulty finding a replacement hood for the other machine.

I’m wondering if other Toro/Wheelhorse hoods are somewhat compatible with the 260 series tractors. They’re  as hard to find as hen’s teeth. If I can find a 260 series hood they need lots of work, bubble gum, JBweld, pop rivets, super glue and duct tape.

Toro also made the identical tractor line in blue, for Ford/New Holland and I found a repairable blue hood but the guy wants an arn and a leg for the blue one that I would need to fix after buying it, so I said no. $150 for a 1/2 broken hood is nuts.🙄

Are there any other Toro/Wheelhorse tractors made after the 260 series tractor’s that could be used or retrofitted somehow to fit on the 260 series? The 260 series hoods are hard to find as most probably ended up in a landfill after the hood failed🤷

The hoods were a terribly cheap design, not what this tractor brand was noted for.

I'm not familiar with the 260 line you speak of, but others might be.

Unfortunately you posted this during the same time as the annual Wheel Horse show in PA, so you may not have many responses for a couple days. Many of the members go to the show and do not frequent this website as much as usual while it is going on.
