Phan 32 #1 Posted June 11 Hello - I am in the middle of a cut. I turned off the engine checked the engine the oil level - but the engine does not crank. No crank the engine has happened on off, I wonder if it is the issue with the ground, safety seat, key switch, or the PTO. I notice that the PTO handle is lose. nylyon-(Admin) 8,072 #2 Posted June 11 Possible switches can be that the motion lever is not in neutral, try wiggling the lever sometimes it doesn’t trip the switch, the other is the PTO lever switch, wiggle the PTO as well see if that helps. Phan 32 #4 Posted June 12 Nylyon - Yesterday, after posting, I went back to push to the garage but decided to start and it cranked. I was able to finsh the cut. I still cannot not explain why - I did try as your comments each time when there was no crank. oldlineman 1,547 #6 Posted June 12 there is a nylon bearing on the pto shaft that can wear and even come out, that may be your problem had the same issue on a 1989 414-8 wasn't to bad of a fix. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,544 #7 Posted June 13 Phan Do you know the model number of your tractor? We should have a detailed wiring file that shows the wiring individually for each circuit. Each circuit has it's own diagram so easy to follow what it takes to make it work with a test light. The wiring to the idiot lights is not necessary to make the tractor function.
