markseven 2 #1 Posted Tuesday at 11:47 AM My 8 horse Kohler on my garden tractor whenever I hook the fuel pump up to the carburetor like it getting too much fuel it floods and it runs poor it's like the needle is not seating correctly and I put new carburetor kits in it still wants to do it it runs real good when I bypass the fuel pump and just have gravity feed it runs pretty good what's going on. It starts much easier much quicker when the fuel pump is connected. These are original carter carbs I haven't tried a aftermarket one.
Achto 29,223 #2 Posted Tuesday at 12:11 PM Check to make sure that this vent hole is clear. If it is not the fuel pump will force gas through the main jet instead of letting vacuum pull it through. It should vent to here. 3
clueless 3,181 #3 Posted Tuesday at 01:08 PM So if it runs good without the fuel pump, why did you put a fuel pump on it?
ri702bill 9,185 #4 Posted Tuesday at 01:51 PM Welcome!! Electric fuel pump??? If the pressure is more than 4 PSI, it WILL blow fuel right by the seat in the carb....

I know but why should it have more than 4 psi if everything is original.
