Pat 0 #1 Posted September 17, 2009 Hello everyone... I just got this old wheel horse tracter...It runs and cuts the grass but it needs alot of TLC... The hood is all bent up and missing the orniment...dangit!...and other things like that. So, in order for me to restore it or at least have it looking good I need a Model number. There is a tag on the motor ( a ten horse Kohler ) but the serial and model are both scratched off....Is there another location on the tracter that I can find a tag or something? Sparky-(Admin) 23,139 #4 Posted September 17, 2009 Look under the hoodstand(below the steering wheel and throttle/choke controls) or on the side of the hoodstand. The ID tag is usually black, about 1"tall and 2" long. If you cant find it either post a pic or give us tons of details. Mike........
KB9LOR 4 #5 Posted September 17, 2009 I will try to help: 1) In front of the shifter, below the dash. 2) Left side below where your knee would be, if you were sitting on the tractor. Those are my guesses and good luck. Brian
Duff 206 #6 Posted September 18, 2009 Hi, Pat, and ! If the ID tag has been scratched off or isn't readable, then like the guys said, post a bunch of pictures and the gang will help identify it for you. If it runs and mows already, it certainly can be rebuit/restored! Good luck! Duff :scratchead:
gwgdog66 23 #7 Posted September 18, 2009 :scratchead: Might be on the left side like this:

N.C. horserider 5 #10 Posted September 18, 2009 Pat You probally have a 1972 charger 10 automatic. The model # for that year is 1-0410. That will be the type of number your looking for on the data plate.
Pat 0 #11 Posted September 18, 2009 Yes it looks just like that one except mine is a ten and mine is also automatic.... This add a pic thing is frustrating......lol !

stevasaurus 23,274 #14 Posted September 18, 2009 Pat...for those painted over decals, a good trick is use acetone and a washcloth and gently rub off the paint with out hurting the decal. :scratchead:

First one is the day I got it home. The other one is after I took off the mower deck to have it repaired and changed the seat... the boat seat was a little to much lol..... Pat 0 #16 Posted September 22, 2009 The I.D. tags are gone...I see evidence of rusted rivets on the left side but that is about all. She got her first oil change at her new home today and from the looks of the old oil she realy needed it! The air filter was clogged with grass and the plug was old.... all new parts and it starts right up now. I cant wait till i find a snow blade for it.
