Onan P220 oil filter gasket

Recommended Posts

I am replacing a very old outside oil filter gasket on my Onan P220. It's the gasket  that is placed between the oil filter and the cooling tin. Do I just slide it on to the oil filter and push it until it rests on the tin? A picture would be very helpful.

You are correct.  If you have an oil filter that is a bit small, it may not stay in place.  I use only Onan 122-0800 or Fleetguard LF3339 filters.

th?id=OPHS.8Ug8dd5rBWHNig474C474&o=5&pid    If your grommet is dry and cracked, replace it.   If your filter is too small, wrap it with a layer of duct tape.

I guess it is possible, but I have never seen a filter that was too big.   Did you try greasing and stretching  the grommet?
