Buying in bulk should be fine as since its not like the oil will be sitting for 20 years

I'm itching to throw a hot potato on the table. "What is the absolute best oil for air cooled engines?" Have at it! LOL!

I was just meaning that it isn't going to harm anything if you buy the oil in a bulk 5 gallon bucket if you have multiple tractors because it is most likely going to get used before it expires and isn't going to sit for a long enough to let everything settle out.

That's why I buy Kinetix brand by the Case Quantity.

Shipping is free. Price is excellent. Convenience is tops.

Win. Win.

But some of the oil in the Lake Speed Jr. video was over 20 years old with very little separation and he never opened the new oil container to see if there was any separation.

The Mobile 1 forty year old oil was quite impressive

Also, he pointed out that the oil cans instruct you to shake the can prior to using it.

If any of you have some twenty year old unopened oil cans you want to give away I will be at the Big Show and be happy to give them a new home.  :woohoo:

I like the yellow, slippery, petroleum kind my self, for air or water cooled.

It's been pointed out that shaking the oil can not reintegrate the additive package.

There is actually a collectors thing in them like beer cans. And people think we're nuts for collecting tractors!

That is FAILED oil.

The Additive Package has fallen out of suspension causing that oil to be expired.

Would I put that in an engine?  ...  ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Here's a short video explaining why:

It's your money and engines folks. Do what you like.

Science has proven that shouldn't be used for engine protection.

Use it in your lube cans like in the first video.

That is a good friend of mine in the video that lives a couple of miles away.

Neat to see posted on here.

Blackstone Laboratories is a well respected lab for lubricant testing.  They did a three part newsletters on old oil, you might want to read it when you have plenty of time.  https://www.blackstone-labs.com/the-ebay-oils-part-1/
