UNBOUND 58 #53 Posted June 8 Dont have torch for brazing, wouldnt work on this application as the seal sits right on top of bushing. Would have to have a shop do the knurl and at last I checked $70 an hour minimum. Went with the loctite and is holding very well. stevasaurus 23,214 #56 Posted June 8 You are going to want that movement, in fact, do not be surprised if you need to hone the bearing a bit once you get it together. The differential does not always align the axles straight and a little honing creats a better fit that works. I had to do that with the 3 p[iece trannies...you may not have to with a 2 piece. I recommend using Lucus Oil Treament to coat shafts and bearings when you put this together. Lucus is a lot like STP and will hang on to the gears and bearings. You do not need to go crazy with this, it is just to lubericate while assembelimg the trans. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I got in touch with a friend that welds for a living, and has welded for me before.
