Unknown Tractor model/ Serial #. The sticker is missing from under the seat. I know it’s a Wheel Horse 321-8, But year is the issue. I have the papers showing was bought back in 1990.

I was looking at the one facing the steering column. The ID decal was located there when this style of tractor was introduced in 1985 but thought it only lasted for one year.

I think it is a 1989 or prior. 1990 or newer the decals changed to black with TORO in larger letters and Wheel Horse in smaller letters.

Square steering wheel insert with logo was 1987 to 1989, earlier years had the round insert

1987/88/89 Model 21-K804 (their all the same) 312-8 Kohler M12 engine. 42" side discharge deck.

Those rear wheels appear to be 8.5 wide as well. 

 

I say the tractor has alot of potential. Any 312-8 is a good machine of course.

I have a 1987 312-A and it has the round insert.  Maybe they changed mid-year in 87?

I found the sales ticket when the first owner purchased this wheel horse 312-8 back in 10-1-1991. 
I believe the mower deck is not original was a 37inch owner I got it from said he changed it out to a bigger deck

Kohler made the engine in 1990 so it could have landed on a 1990 or 1991 tractor.

The hood decals appear to have a maroon background and 1989 was the last year for maroon.

1990-on they have a black background.

Sales ticket says 2-8-91. My guess is the hood has been changed..

Rear fender has maroon stripe too. The center console is identical to my 1987. 

 

Maybe it sat in the showroom for a year or two? As in made in 1989 but sold in 1991?

for photo comparison -- my 312-8 bought new in 1989 - last yr of that design before going to Toro design

Wheel Horse tractors came from the factory without any attachments. Decks, plows, tillers, or whatever was installed at the dealership.
