Mowing deck pulley question

So had a pulley break off it's center hub section.  The hub portion is still bolted to the spindle.  What am I missing, have not found a hole to shove a screwdriver into, how do I stop the spindle from turning so I can remove the nut and swap in a new pully.  My deck is Model # 79108 and the pulley is a 88-5330

There is an 1 1/8" hex head area between the blade and the spindle where a thin 1 1/8" wrench can be inserted. This manual should be helpful.

I use a block of wood to lock the blade and spindle to the deck shell.

I used a block of wood too, then I graduated to an impact gun.

I tried a block of wood and my impact.  It was an awesome way to quickly uninstall the blade.  LOL

There are NO flat spots on the spindle for a wrench.  Nowhere in those manuals does it have instructions for removing a spindle shaft.

OK, use a chain, strap, or pipe wrench on the pulley OD.    No big wrench, weld a bar to the pulley.  No welder, drill two holes for pins spanner wrench style.
