Jerzey76 0 #1 Posted Monday at 12:14 PM I have a 1971 electro with Hydrostatic Transmission. It started to leak along the seals so I decided to take apart the transmission. I am at the point now of trying to take apart the gear box and it will not budge. Any suggestions?

pfrederi 18,395 #3 Posted Monday at 12:20 PM First remove the hydro pump and motor (bolted to left side of the transaxle housing). Then yo will have to remove the hitch pin and both wheel hubs. I have used an hammer and side of an old putty knife to split the transaxle case 1

I have removed the seals for the trans axel already It may be that the motion control o rings are leaking...it runs down the front of the transaxle and drips off the center of the bottom making you think the the transaxle gasket is bad.. honestly the case gasket is not a common failure point
Jerzey76 0 #7 Posted Tuesday at 03:09 PM First, I want to say thank you for your suggestions. I am a novice when it comes to this and flying by the seat of my pants. The leak was forming by the hitch pin and then underneath the box was leaking as well. I will show pictures when I get the chance. Thanks again
