PTO wont engage belt and only squeals when lever is activated, belt/pully to deck does not turn. made several adjustments to everything that can be adjusted with same resuls.

How can you tell when the PTO is bad and what's required to repair?

@Dan270  there are 12  bearings  involved with the pto lever / mule drive / deck spindles , often refer to  my pto drive to  mule / deck spindles turning over by hand , would bet there is a  number of seized bearing's involved , pto cone alone has sealed outer bearing and inner needle bearing , might look up a related schematic  , tractor / attachment  drawing , clutch screaming  is telling you of  numerous  bearing lubrication failures .  deck removal , inspection , related pulleys  , etc , pete

A squeal suggests to me that there is a belt slipping.  Are the deck spindles turning freely?  Are the 2 pullies in the mule drive turning freely?

Does the clutch bell spin at the same speed as the engine? I've had one of the C clips on the stub shaft in the clutch bell fail.  This preventes the force applied by the hoop from being transferred to the clutch bell, preventing the clutch from engaging. .

It would help with diagnosis of your issue to know the thickness of your clutch lining.  A close up photo of the edge of the clutch would be very helpful.

If the belt is slipping on the PTO pulley, you need to locate the device that is not turning freely.

Release the tension on the belt so you can turn each deck spindle and each mule drive pulley.

There are two thing to check if the PTO can't be adjusted. First the the C-clip if it's out of the slot in the short shaft in the end of the PTO.

Check and make sure the PTO bracket is bolted tight to the engine. Ether one will make it imposable to keep the PTO adjusted.
