lawnmowermad 0 #1 Posted May 7 Hi i purchased a r26 last and am slowly restoring it ,realised the original engine is no good as it has a worn bore,so I sourced another tecumseh 5hp vertical shaft engine alot more modern than the orignal but I don't no what the maximum rpm it should safely run at so I've purchased a cheap tachometer can any one shed some light on the engine speed at max rpm Thanks Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
pfrederi 18,632 #2 Posted May 7 My Tecumseh Mechanics handbook helpfully says " In most cases, engine top operating RPMs are determined by the manufacturer of the equipment.
