Picked up a 68 commando 8, looks to be original motor. need to find the starter gen for it, is that going to be possible?

They still make them new, but the old one will be of better quality and can be rebuilt. What is it doing that makes you think it needs a new one?

As Mike said, let us know what isn't working and we may be able to save you some money and save a good part from being scrapped.

One thing to keep in mind if you are looking for a used S/G is that the :wh: units turn clockwise and the Cub Cadet turn counterclockwise so that won't work for your application.

FYI Isavetractors sells a kit that contains replacement bearings and brushes to overhaul one.

@Leonard Church  How much do you use it? I go to Harbor fright and buy a $10.0 battery maintainer or tender.  It works. If you use it every day then it would be a good investment to look into a rebuild or find another one. There out there at the shows. And if you go to the BIG SHOW you can find one there. Enjoy the ride when done.
