Just wondering if I could have a little advice on how to press in the new DD spindle bearing into the housing. Should I use a socket and press against the outer edge of the bearing? I'm assuming I'll probably ruin the bearing if I press against the shaft. Thank you as always.

Yes press against the outer shell of the bearing. Check the housing for any burrs/ rough spots and smooth them before starting. Put a light coat of never seize on the housing and bearing if you have some.

Click on the fuzzy picture in the link.

That will bring up 2 pages of instructions.

The last set i of those I put in went in pretty easy. I just lightly tapped on the outer housing and they went in nice. Like Jim said a little oil will help a lot and the end with the line on the shaft goes up.

I've just done this - I looked hard for a suitable pipe/socket to press against the outer edge, but ended up using the old bearing.  My old bearing had totally failed, and the inner "shaft" came away from the outer tube.  I cleaned up the tube and used it to push in the new one.  Using copper-slip and a dead-blow hammer, it was much easier than I had feared.
