Lcfman 4 #1 Posted May 1 I have a 310-8 I bought new in 1987. It’s been and still is a great piece of equipment. The only thing I have replaced is a carburetor a couple years ago and the mower deck belts(the main drive belt last year, can you believe the belts lasted that long). My question is there a direct 10 or 12 horsepower motor replacement.

Ed Kennell 40,689 #3 Posted May 1 (edited) Why are you looking for a replacement? Your tractor should have the Kohler Magnim 10 engine model number M10s-46152. The M10,12,14, and 16 should fit if from a gear drive. If from a hydro, you will need to change the pulley. Also may need to alter the belt guard for the 14 and 16. Lcfman 4 #4 Posted May 1 The current and original engine is the Kohler 8 hp and I was looking to upgrade with a little more power.

If original your tractor is a 308-8 and gas tank is integral to the engine. Bigger engines you will have to get a fuel tank (under seat type) Edited May 1 by pfrederi
Ed Kennell 40,689 #6 Posted May 1 Can you post pictures of the tractors model plate and engine plate so we can determine if it is a 308-8 or a 310-
