C175 & 2 Stage snowblower??

Recommended Posts

Considering a 1983 C175. Seller is asking what I think is a bit too much but has had it for sale for quite some time. I think hes ready to possibly come to a deal. It's about 2hrs away. Looks like the original implement listing only shows a single stage snowblower. I need a 2stage. Would a 2stage from another model work? Im not looking to have to engineer/fabricate intensely to make it all fit properly.

If the snowblower has all its proper connection hardware it'll go right on.

I've had a 2 stage on my 1975 C160 Automatic.

Except the belt sits higher on a 2 stage than a single so the belt might hit that wide hood, maybe not

Yes, it will hook up to the tractor. However as @wallfish says I’d be concerned about the belt rubbing the hood. I honestly don’t know if it would clear, if nothing else it will be damn close!! One way or the other that’s a really nice C-175, you don’t see too many in that condition. I recently restored my C-175 and have a two stage blower on my 417-A. I’ll see if I can take some basic measurements and figure out if it will work.

Love my C-175s  I have 4 but this will be a series 1.  Might use their failure rate as a bargaining tool.

as noted in the thread earlier -- i would suggest to check the model and engine numbers to research and see if it's a KT 17 --- Series 1 or Series 2 engine -- recognizing the Series 1 potential historic engine issues? I have a Series 1 that has not had that issue --- yet anyway?????

:text-yeahthat: it seems that if a Series 1 is operated on reasonably level ground, the oiling system operates more dependably than if operated on inclines.

The issue is the oiling system is only parily pressurized.  Complete oiling depends on oil dripping off of the upper internal components onto the lower components.  Keeping adequate oil in the engine is also critical.

The belt on my Ber Vac  on the '88 520H is 10-12 inches above the top of the axle.  I rubs the hood when the blower is raised

Heres a pic of s/n. I definitely don't wanna modify hood or anything like that to make snowblower work. Appreciate everyone's input.

Didnt know about the potential engine issues.
