FLtractor 38 #1 Posted April 19 (edited) Afternoon, Looking to finish up the first round of general maintenance to get the tractor known what is new.. on a fresh start basis… on my new to me 1966 856 single cylinder Kohler 8 Hp. Tractor is running and starting good. But no idea the last time the current plug was changed. Would this be the best quality replacement.. is there a brand or model that is universally used amongst Wheelhorse Garden Tractor owners? ebinmaine 71,038 #2 Posted April 19 A few things to note: A. Please try not to use anything that states "replacement for". EVER. They usually are not.... B. That price is REALLY HIGH. C. There are several good name brands like Bosch NGK or Champion that work well. My experience shows me that generic no name plugs are poor, at best. Champion number H10C would work.
squonk 42,789 #3 Posted April 19 Actually, H10C is a big block plug. How much difference that makes? Who knows? Use an Autolite 295
pfrederi 18,383 #4 Posted April 19 Autollite 295 is what I use also (I do not like the Champion J8c which also works)

There is no difference between a misfire and a no start when there's only one hole. And cheap plugs on a pull-start engine are the worst, especially a 2-stroke. I'd say the smaller the engine the more important a quality spark plug is. 1
