520 48 inch deck pto belt size?

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I tried matching up my old drive belt at tractor supply however they only had one up to 103 inches in stock and that was too small. Does anyone know the actual length of the 1/2 inch v belt coming off the pto going to the 48 inch deck?? If you have a napa part number that would be good to. Thanks-

Having the deck VIN number would help but I guessed it was a 1988 deck and used VIN 05-48ms05 and it calls for a 102742 which is 1/2" x 103". :scratchead:

I tried to match it to a 103 inch and that was too short?? Is there a longer belt made for the swept forward front end??

Don't see any different decks. Don't really know the VIN difference between a non swept 520 and a swept one if there is any which I doubt. Gonna try service bulletins now...

Thanks for your help. I may just have to order one from the dealer.

Is there a longer belt made for the swept forward front end??

The tractor frame is the same length regardless of what front axle is used. (swept axles are notched for belt clearance though)

102742 should be the correct belt. :scratchead: Is the deck fastened in the mid hitch correctly? :hide: (I'm sure you checked, but I thought I'd ask.)

Good idea! Might have the "V" on the attachment rod forward of the rod it splits which would move the deck aft...
