Retired Army 1 #1 Posted April 15 Wondering the cause of my slow speed. Seems to be losing more speed especially on hills. Ideas?
rmaynard 15,944 #2 Posted April 15 (edited) Check your fluid level, and maybe replace your hydro filter. Correct filter is either an OEM filter 79-5270 or WIX 51410. Edited April 15 by rmaynard 1

lynnmor 7,614 #4 Posted April 15 Condition of belt? Condition of idler pulley and its bearing? Is the transmission pulley tight on the shaft.
oliver2-44 10,405 #5 Posted April 15 (edited) Tell us a little about your self and you tractor. In your profile I see it says you have a hydro 15 hp. but that doesn't tell us enough about it. The 520 was originally 20hp, so does it have a different 15hp engine? Edited April 15 by oliver2-
Wayne0 987 #7 Posted April 15 (edited) Adjust the cam plate on the transmission and see if that's the problem. Had the same issue with one of mine. .BTW Edited April 15 by Wayne0
953 nut 58,226 #8 Posted April 15 If you 520 has been in storage for a while take a look under the plate where the shift lever is located. I had chipmunks nested there and the debris left behind prevented the shift lever from moving all the way.
