So I've got the 314-8 in the shop trying to correct trouble with the ignition switch making intermittent contact. I found a terminal fried, was able to get it fixed and serviceable, then bought a new switch. My parts manual showed 2 part #, 111216 and 116338. My first choice was the 111216, the grounded terminal was in a different location, so I ordered #116338, once installed as soon as it turns on,  the 20amp fuse snaps, nothing else was changed and the machine worked fine before, so the 116338 must not be the same configuration as the original part. The original switch still works so I can reuse it to get by but would like to have a new one.

Where can I find a drawing showing which contacts make in which key positions so I can determine if the switch is right

Have any of you guys ran into this issue before and better yet know of vendors besides random amazon sellers that can be trusted to have the part numbers straight. I don't know what not to trust, the parts manual, the original switch or the amazon sellers selling rebrand/offbrand parts with supposedly "equal to" part numbers

The photo shows what I've got

                       top sw is the 111219

bottom left is the OE                  bottom right is 116338

A few thoughts.

I DO NOT BUY "equal to" or "replaces" anymore.

Ever.

I've had too many incorrect parts.

I also DO NOT BUY any parts off the jungle site.

See above reason.

Our own Redsquare vendors are excellent.

@76c12091520h

@Jake Kuhn

Or CALL Lincoln at A to Z Tractor in PA.

One of them will have the correct part.

I also use a seller I found on Fleeebay.

Billsplaceshop.com

There are others...

I don't think the top switch is 111216 because it shows an M terminal. Might be a 111215

The 300 and 400 series Wheel Horses can be broken down to three groups when it comes to basic wiring. 1985 and 1986 all had K series Kohler engines with battery powered ignition systems with the exception of the 1986 308-8 which was a Magnum M-8 and the 1986 420LSE which was Kohler powered with a M-20. After all, this is Wheel Horse so there had to be exceptions. 1987 to 1997 were M series Kohlers and 1998 and later were Kohler Command powered.

All 300 and 400 models that were equipped with Kohler Magnum engines from 1987 to 1991 used the 103991-ignition switch and from 1992 to 1997 they all used the 116338-ignition switch.

Update...........I talked to 76c12091520h/ yesterday , he didn't have a switch on hand and had been waiting 2 months for his supplier to get any. He told me the 116338 is kind of unique to the wheelhorse and sometimes hard to find.

I called a local toro shop and they were able to order one for me, said their distributor has it in stock, and it should arrive here next tuesday, For $68 plus tax, I hope it's true to the part number and is of OEM quality

As long as it has an ORIGINAL Toro tag on it you'll be fine.

If it's in a bag with no markings or the part number is written in pen, refuse it.
