Raider vs Charger

Ok I been looking around. I'm confused over the differences between these two models. Raider is gear drive and Charger hydro ? What years were they both produced and was the kohler vs tecumseh engines an option ? Could they be swapped without any modifications?

Sounds like we are talking football teams

Raider is gear drive and Charger hydro ?

:text-yeahthat:

Take a look through the master model list. Should answer a lot of this question.

Usually not too hard to swap from a Tecumseh to a Kohler. Ignition switch is one thing that I know that needs to be changed.

You won't know that until it is too late.

All of the sheet metal except the shifter tunnel should be interchangeable. The IPL will show different part numbers on some pieces because the decal for the Hydro or 8 Speed would be included. The engine drive pulley will be larger on the Hydro but the PTO should be the same.

What I would be doing would be replacing the tecumseh 10hp with a Kohler 10hp. This kohler dosnt have the starter generator. Has the smaller starter on it. Picking it up soon. Photos to follow.

If the Kohler has the breaker-less ignition system that came from the factory then this should be a simple plug and play swap.
