John2189 542 #1 Posted March 30 Could someone post a pic of the location of the gas tank and battery on a 656? Mine has neither and I don’t see any way to mount them.

Thanks looks like the gas tank is mounted to the engine. Om mine , a previous owner put a 10 hp techy on it. It does have a little tank mounted in a plywood holder. Or more representative of Wheelhorse in general?

It's been modified with a bigger engine so the original locations probably don't apply to your tractor if you're keeping the 10 hp engine on it. A tank can be mounted on the hood stand tray and the battery should have a battery tray behind the engine but it may not fit with the bigger engine

That's what Trina did. 1 hour ago, wallfish said: and the battery should have a battery tray behind the engine but it may not fit with the bigger engine It won't hold a stock Wheelhorse battery because of the starter in a 10 HP Tecumseh. We used a motorcycle battery to alleviate that.

I used blocks of wood to raise the battery above the steering gear, so it would fit, but not happy with that either.
oliver2-44 10,738 #8 Posted April 1 The WH 953/1054 had their tank on top the transaxle in a wood cradle held in place with steel straps. So wood could be ok if done well.
