Racinbob 11,938 #1 Posted December 15, 2024 The Dino C-121 need rear tires so I've had my eyes open for a pair already mounted. The stock rims have a 1-3/16" offset. Apparently that's a bit of an oddball because all I've been finding have a larger offset and seemingly wouldn't clear the fuel tank. I decided that if I found a good set I would just get some spacers if needed. I had seen this set a while back and contacted the guy but declined when he told me the offset was 2-1/4". Since I decided to get spacers I contacted him again and he still had them. An hour and a half to Dyer and they were mine. Carlisle 23-10.50's and as nice a set as you'll find short of new. I test fit one on my 2005 (should be identical) to verify the spacer thickness and got a nice surprise. They cleared without spacers! I wouldn't be able to use chains with them but that's not the game plan right now. 8
Bar Nuthin 1,088 #2 Posted December 15, 2024 (edited) I picked up a pair (same size rims) in an auction lot. I thought they'd be nice in the spring when I'm hauling mulch around on softer ground. I'll for sure need spacers before I can mount them on my C-120A Edited December 15, 2024 by Bar Nuthin

I didn't think I'd get away with no spacers considering the deeper offset. Sears rims seem to be really deep.

Wheel Horse wheels mount with the deep side facing out. Sears wheels work very well on Wheel Horse tractors.

But many of the “garden tractor” models in the 1990s did, and some used wide wheels similar to the Wheel Horse 520 wheels.
MainelyWheelhorse 1,536 #12 Posted December 15, 2024 (edited) So, what other Manufacturer's wheels fit the 300/400/500 and the other Wheel Horse? I’m curious as I’m 10 minutes from the local small engine guy that has a junkyard of various years, makes and models. I never measured them, but they're deeper offset on the inside than my stock WH rims. Didn't notice it until I bolted on the RH side. It wouldn't turn because it was jammed tight against the transmission. If we get a nice day, I'll dig them out and measure the offset. The bottom wheel in the lot was a match to the ones that were on my tractor Carlisle 23x8.50x12. The top two Sears tires are 23x10.0x12, in nice condition. That moves things in more and can cause clearance problems. A while back I removed a set from a Sears and tried to put them on a Wheel Horse. Not even close to fitting. Ignore the depth from the outside. Doesn't matter. 2 hours ago, ebinmaine said: Do ALL Sears wheels have the shallow back spacing? They most likely vary......a lot.....but I don’t usually mess with Sears. Because the Sears wheels were so far off I gave them away. At the time I didn't want to mess with spacers. I don't know what the wheels/tires I just got came off of. All I know is that the offset is 2-1/4" and they still will work.

With the extra offset they tuck under the fender nice but still have the bad azz wide tire look. I'm going back to my teen years. 😁

I've seen a few of that vintage with the floor rotted out just above the muffler, and it has nothing to do with road salt. There is a stick-on heat shield there that holds moisture of any kind against the metal.
