rick 255 #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Here is the deal- I have a blade that came with my C111, and I want to use it on my '97 314-8. The C111 is a roller right now, I got the engine running well with a major tune up and a new carburetor. I believe when the short block was replaced, the counterbalance weights were not timed properly, since the engine shakes terribly. I replaced the rubber mounts as well, so there is no slack there to cause the shakes. The deck that came with the 314 is shot, so I wanted to use the blade on it for a while. The blade mounts to the 314-8 okay, but I believe I need to find/purchase the correct indexing lever. It won't mount to the plow frame because of interference with the footrest, which extends farther forward than the ones on the C111 and the 310-8. Has anyone else had this problem, and how was it solved? By the way, cutting on the tractor, or modifying the index lever so it won't work on the C111 are not options. Thanks, rick
kpinnc 14,585 #2 Posted September 10, 2009 Though the blades will fit both machines, the 300 series did (as you already know) require a different lever. Since modifying anything is not an option for you, the only thing you can do is list a want ad in the classifieds for the correct dozer blade, search Ebay and Craigslist, or an aftermarket (Partstree.com, RCPW, etc...) supplier for the correct part. Good luck Kevin
rick 255 #3 Posted September 11, 2009 I will have the same luck trying to find a used lever and cable assembly will be like trying to find a good 42" deck, sort of like the quest for the Holy Grail.... I would modify the lever, if didn't preclude using it on the C111. Thanks for your input.....

rick 255 #6 Posted September 12, 2009 Bitten-I have the 310 in use as a lawn mower... The C111 isn't usable at this time. I suppose I could swap the footrests, though! What I might do is get the right handle and leave it on the blade. can whlvr , my fabricating skills are limited, mostly due to lack of time...I am not yet retired, and have two grandchildren
