dr74go 1 #5 Posted September 7, 2009 I am still a newbie, and do not know much about the older tractors. I have a question. On the right side of redride's last photo, there is a slotted bracket. What is this bracket for?

jdog_kustoms 82 #7 Posted September 7, 2009 it is for the lift adjustment it has a j hook and a knob on top you crank the knob to the level you want and the hook hooks the lift arm and only lets it go so far down

RideRed 0 #11 Posted September 7, 2009 IT'S ALIVE !!!! so, the guy said it would turn over but he could'nt get it to run....OK? well after an hour of draining old fuel, charging the battery, cleaning the plug, and blowing out the air filter...with a squirt of starting fluid and a dozen bumps of the starter she lives! fired right up, blew some leaves at me, a small puff of smoke, and she sat at idle. threw the seat and wheel back on and took a test ride (victory lap) around the yard. and when the guy said he had a guy "convert" it to elec start. what he meant was he paid some dude to bolt in a later model 8hp kohler. so it needs a new battery, the hood and seat have some cracks that need welding, there's a leak in the gas tank (at the seam), and a little oil weaping from a few gaskets. but nothing too bad, it'll still run and ride! YE HAW !!
