MSZ40 7 #1 Posted August 13, 2024 (edited) Hello, long time wheel horse owner, started with a used B-80, sold to family member to purchase a new 312-8 in 1996. Divorce seperated me from that one and 10 years ago I bought a used 314-8 with 42 side discharge deck. Spindles are noisy and need rebuild. Can't find any tag or part number on deck so looking to get correct spindle bearings. This 3 balde deck is not original deck either. Any help appreciated. Also have a snow blade and many parts like new for an un-used mold board plow. Thx Mike Edited August 13, 2024 by MSZ40

Lee1977 7,070 #5 Posted August 14, 2024 If it has 5/8" nuts on top of the mower spindles the bearings are metric 6203 ( 40mm OD 17 mm ID and 12 mm thick.) That is what should be on a 314-8 if it's the same model deck. The older decks with 3/4" nuts on top of the spindles also used a 6203 bearing with ( 40mm OD 3/4" ID and 12 mm thick. ) The old Double D spindles have a 3/8" bolt on top of the spindle with a compression washer. Blades and compression washers are hard to find for the old Double D decks and suggest newer metric spindles. All three types will bolt on I have had all three on my deck in the last 46 years.
MSZ40 7 #6 Posted August 14, 2024 It appears the top of one of the outer spindle shafts is 5/8" not 3/4", although I did not check it with a caliper. There is a sticker on the trailing end of the deck that may offer some info but nothing I can decipher. Thx, Mike
