ML3 1,666 #1 Posted June 29, 2024 Bought a Brinley hitch (used) & cable (new) at big show for my 953. Haven't really looked at what its gonna take to install. Gotta think there's something to secure cable so it doesn't move??? Will I need a rock shaft kit because of the hydro lift? 953 nut 59,794 #2 Posted June 29, 2024 Your transmission has a 3/8" threaded hole on the top and was equipped with a short piece of steel to restrain the cable conduit from moving. Your rockshaft has a place on it to attach the cable. Part # 36. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Gotta be similar set as my 654, 753, & even RJ? Wouldn't be surprised if the steel retainer isn't present. Worse case I'll have to make one. Perhaps if you replaced the top rear bolt with a longer one and made up a clamping rig to hold the cable it would get the job done. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'm sure I'll figure it out especially after a few beers! Also need to replace the fuel line. R&B Stables (they did restoration) used copper. It rubs against hydraulic cylinder & in a few other places. I have rubber fuel line that I'll use. After I get lift cable routed/secured then I can route the new fuel line in a safer more secure way 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
