Finish Mower 60" Rear Mount Information

Recommended Posts

pfrederi

I have been overhauling a finish mower for my D-200 and wanted to share some part numbers with the group, and also ask one question.

The mowers were made by Woods and share some parts with a Woods L59 that I have as a belly mount on my Case VAC.

I have seen the same mower painted different colors so i assume Woods made them for other companies as well as selling them themselves.

Does anyone know the Woods model number????

Most of the parts listed for the mower are NLA from Toro or have ridiculous prices ($125 for the belt $100 for blades)

Belt Woods 24004

I got a replacement (PIX brand) from vbelts4less.com for $28

Belt is 133.75 inches long...Gates shows they make no replacement

Blades

Woods 31359

Stens 345-777

Rotary 6432

I used Oregon 91-761 About $8 each

Spindle bearings

Cone M12649

Cup M12610

They are available from Timken as a set (SET 3)

(Note: the cups are very hard to deal with. the spindle housing casting just about completely covers the lip of the cup. You can't drive/press them out. i had to cut them with a Dremel cutoff wheel then break them out with a chisel.)

Spindle Seals

National 471762 (They are thinner than original but fit)

One more note You will need a press to disassemble the spindles and to put them back together....

Does the Woods model run at 2000RPM like the Wheel Horses?

Thank you for posting this.

I have one as well that I picked up this summer and will be getting to it sometime in the future.

Thanks for the info and if you find out anything else, I would be very interested in learning anything that you have come across.

I do not know. The ones in other colors I saw I remember from auctions before I had the D and didn't pay much attention...now I wish I had.

The L59 belly mount I have is for a Cat 1 540 rpm PTO. It has a very large pulley on teh PTO (Maybe 18") and drives 4 inch pulleys on the deck to get the speed up.
