daveoman1966 3,839 #3 Posted May 8, 2024 If your 'ram' is the older type with welded shut ends, you can try this: Did this to my 74 C-160 ram and it still does NOT leak. For all the other style rams, there are seal kits available... I think the RS Vendor 'Wheelhorsepartsnmore' also has kits... Look in the VENDOR'S section.

I'm good at tapping 5/8 inch in Won't go to deep.? #4copper washer Hardware store? Champer one side for a slight angle?
daveoman1966 3,839 #9 Posted May 9, 2024 Yes...Champer (concave) slightly the INNER rim of the copper washer (plumbing supply store) ---that helps 'crimp' the rubber O-ring tightly around the shaft (3) to prevent leaks. Drill the 3 holes to est 5/8" deep. When all done, GENTLY tap the outer rim of the copper washer to contour neatly against the ram body.
