nuwk3r 0 #1 Posted April 30, 2024 Does anyone know what the part number is for the belt going from the engine down to the deck for a Wheelhorse model 73402? The serial number is 6901692 I have tried looking in the manual for the tractor and the deck but haven't found anything. The deck model number is 78360 and the serial number of it is 7900579. The deck is a side discharge. I would also like to get a new deck belt if someone could give me the part number for it as well? I am having an issue when the blades hit a little bit of high grass the blades turn off and take a while spinning back up. I would like to try replacing all the belts if someone knows the part numbers for both belts please.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,441 #2 Posted April 30, 2024 Drive belt 102742 replaced by 94-2501 (1/2" x 103") Spindle belt 1594 (1/2" x 107.21")
Ed Kennell 41,775 #3 Posted April 30, 2024 to the Garry has listed the required belt numbers. Not saying they don't need replaced, but have you checked to see if the PTO drive belt has the correct tension and if the PTO clutch is slipping, and if the deck belt tensioner is clean and free? Any of these three items will cause the blades to stall in high grass.

I tried adjusting the tension on the drive belt but it seems if I make a slight adjustment to put more tension on it then the blades won't spin up at all. I was going to pull the deck off and change the drive & deck belts and check the tensioner and pulleys on the deck. How can I check if the PTO clutch is slipping? I am still learning. That is CCW if you are looking at the end of the threaded rod. Turn it one revolution at a time until you get enough pressure on the clutch to make it stop slipping. You can check for slippage by using a magic marker to mark the OD of the two mating clutch parts. Before doing anything, please remove mule drive, the deck, and both belts and make sure all three spindles and the idler tensioner pulley spin freely and the tensioner bar slides freely. Also check that the two mule drive pulleys spin freely. The mower deck should work and spin up with any worn belt. ranger 1,798 #7 Posted April 30, 2024 When you increase the belt tension, make sure you turn the tensioner on the mule drive C.C.Wise, if you turn it C.Wise you reduce tension. So screw it Out, not In! This is the knob on the front, not on the p.t.o linkage!
