Fuel line diameter - does 1/32 inch downsize matter?

Recommended Posts

I have a 12.5 horse Briggs and Stratton that I need to replace the fuel line on. Because I have moved to Europe, I have to go with a metric size hose. The tractor has had the normal 1/4 inch hos until now.

So the question is: can I replace a 1/4 inch hose with .6 mm hose? 1/4 inch equals 6.35 mm so I would be going ever so slightly smaller with the hose. In fact, that's downsizing by only 1/32 of an inch.

I believe it'd be fine.

I'll second that.

I just replaced the 3/16" (.187) fuel line on a 13 HP Honda powered gas Pressure Washer. It has no issues at WOT...

No problem, these machines don't use much gas anyway. :confusion-shrug:  A 1/4" fuel line feeds a 400 cubic inch V8 all day long, you shouldn't use as much as a V8.

Well you've all made this pretty clear to me. Thanks again for the advice.
