how to attach hubs to axle to c145

my axles spinning buy my wheels are not.

There are two nuts and a key.

I havent taken it off yet because i do not know the part number for the new key

Does anyone no the part number?

Also are the bolts holding bolts or is there a hole they should be going in

There will be one or two set screws per hub.  Should take a 9/16” wrench for the jam nut and a 3/8” wrench for the set screw head.

Shouldn't there be a key in there somewhere?  If your axles are spinning inside the hub, you will probably find some serious damage to the key ways in the hub and axle.

Take the hubs off to see how much damage there is to the axles and hubs.    The keys can be purchased at any hardware store.

 

If the hubs do not slide right off,  DO NOT  pound them off.   They are only held in the transmission by a clip that will break.    Use a puller to pull the hubs off.

I have always had to heat the hubs close to cherry red, and then replace the axel seal afterwards.  I have had little success using a brass drift and or a puller.

 

For me I have has to use all three.  Brass drift, with tension on the 3 jaw pulley, and then lots of heat.  

 

Then getting they key out is the next disaster.

You say the axles are spinning in the hubs so I don't think heat will help to get the hubs pulled over the chewed up key .

Looks like you will rebuilding or replacing the axles, hubs, and keys.

There are 8 different model numbers for the C-145 which is the model name.

To determine the key part number a model number is required.

Failing that is it an 8-speed or hydro drive?

Keep in mind that the key will widen the slot in the hub so to pull the hub it needs align with the original slot.  I believe that some of the difficulty folks have is their forcing the key to cut a new or wider slot.  Simply remove the set screw(s) and rotate the hub till the key is centered in the set screw hole.
