How to identify my model so I can find manuals and wiring diagrams

Recommended Posts

I have a 266-H with a Kohler CV16S/61514. Kohler serial number is 2412606597.

I inherited the machine without manuals and don’t know what year or model number it is. End of last season, the ignition assembly appears to have fried, probably while it was on a bad trickle charger. My local repair shop doesn’t want to mess with it, as the wiring harness is no longer a stock item that they can find. I’d like to rewire it, rather than buy a new machine. How do I find the correct wiring diagrams? Any other tips for a direction I should be looking?

Look for the model number, usually under the seat, I'll look at the manuals section & see if there's one there...

The engine was made in 1994 so it would have landed on a 1994 or 1995 model tractor.

The 1994 operator manual is posted above.

The demystification guide is a pretty nice tool. Wish I had that for everything I own.
